In recognition of their efforts, Patson's won the City of Sunnyvale's Environmental Achievement Award and is currently seeking chain-of-custody certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Patson's is committed to innovation to promote sustainability for the planet. They have eliminated all petroleum-based solvents from their ink formulations, using only low-VOC, soy-based inks approved by the American Soybean Foundation. They are 100% direct-to-plate, totally eliminating the need for film, film disposal, and the chemicals used to develop film. They recycle all paper waste, metal plates, and press by-products including oil, which is disposed according to EPA standards.
